My husband, Johnny, and my mother in law, Sharon, both have COVID-19. They are on the way to recovery. Praise God they continue to heal. Pray for continuing healing. Pray for our kids, they really miss their dad (he is staying with his mom during this time. Pray that the rest of our family would continue to stay healthy. Thank you.
I have finished my 25 radiation treatments with minimal side effects. I will continue having chemo treatments until August and then be closely monitored after that. The Lord has been so faithful throughout this yearlong journey. “Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus.” Thank you to all of those who have prayed for me and encouraged me. I have felt loved by my RCC friends.
Here’s the prayer we used in the service on Sunday:
Lord, sometimes we are tempted to minimize our losses and struggles,
Help to us live honestly;
Sometimes we are tempted to avoid difficult emotions,
Help us to live courageously;
Sometimes we are tempted to believe the lies that we have no control or complete control,
Help us to live responsibly;
Sometimes we are tempted to live carried away by each new circumstance;
Help us to live purposefully;
Sometimes we are tempted to fear the future,
Help us to live confidently.
Sometimes we are tempted to resign ourselves to what we can see,
Help us to live faithfully and expectantly
For Your glory and our joy.
Amen.
5/13 - My mom is healing from her bad forehead cut and fall, and is now out of quarantine. God's hand of protection from the virus has been over everyone at the center. Thank you very much for your prayers, and continued ones as well :)
4/27 - My mom, Marilyn Nelson, fell at her assisted living center. She had stitches in her forehead at the hospital, but due to that visit, is now quarantined in her room for 2 weeks (which will extend over her birthday). Please pray for her healing, and for protection for her, her caretakers and everyone at the center from the possibility of the virus. Thank you :)
Launa’s heart surgery was a success! She had a great night last night, slept many hours but this morning she was having a pain in her neck so assume maybe wrong position on the pillow or just the effects of all the drugs she had going into surgery wearing off.
She was up yesterday and did a little walk down the hall and spending time sitting in a chair which is the protocol for open heart surgery to prevent pneumonia and blood clotting.
She will have good and bad days now for quite some time as this is not an over night healing process. Many months ahead yet for healing.
She will be in ICU for at least one more day and then to a recovery room in the hospital. She has nothing but praise for the hospital and the nurses and doctors in house there so that in itself is comforting. My gracious thanks for all prayers lifted up for Launa. My whole family is just amazed at all the love and prayers for their Mom.
Please pray for my dad, Norm, he is 85 and he is having major surgery on Monday. Pray for safety from other illness while in the hospital and for a successful surgery.
I thought I would pass this along to my RCC friends - It is an opportunity to fast and pray tomorrow (Saturday, April 4th) and start off Easter week with prayer:
Please pray for Lucy Park. She has been battling some kind of respiratory infection which was getting worse, so she went to the ER today. She definitely has some kind of virus, but they sent her home to recover at home. Lucy also has fibromyalgia which makes her recovery more difficult. Pray for Lucy and her family as she recovers.
Please pray for Jensen Robitaille, daughter of our missionaries in Indonesia, Doug and Jael. Jensen is a BIOLA student still remaining on campus as she is not able to return to Indonesia at this time since the borders are closed to Westerners. Her original visa to return home in May 12. Please pray that she is able to go home at that time (or sooner if the borders are opened). Thank you!
Lord, draw your people into a new level of intimacy with you during this time. When all things are stripped away, I pray YOU become our focus. I pray that my family and I, the body of RCC, and the global church would come out of this with a stronger sense of who You are. That we would use this time to be filled, healed, renewed, and prepared, by You, for what you have ahead of us. Your will be done. In Jesus name!
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I SUBMIT A PRAYER request?
When you submit a prayer request or an answer to prayer, we will automatically send you an email confirming your request. Once our Prayer Wall moderators receive your prayer request, they will publish it as soon as possible.
HOW WILL PEOPLE KNOW WE ARE PRAYING?
When you pray for a request on the RCC Prayer Wall, you can leave feedback by clicking on the person’s name, and then clicking the "Heart" button beneath their prayer request. This will be our way of expressing support for the individual and a notice that you will pray for this issue.
HOW CAN I REMOVE MY REQUEST?
When you submit a prayer request, you'll receive a confirmation email which contains an email link to have your prayer request removed from the Prayer Wall. Upon receipt, our moderators will remove your Prayer Request as soon as possible.
WHAT ABOUT CONFIDENTIAL OR PRIVATE PRAYER REQUESTS?
It may go without saying, but do not post anything to the Prayer Wall that is not ‘public’ information. RCC’s website is a public site. Also, do not share anything that is not your information to share. If you have a private prayer request that you do not want on the Wall, you will have the option on the prayer request form to designate who will see your prayer request (pastors only, the pastors and prayer team, or the Prayer Wall). If you have questions, please email our Care Pastor directly at keithg@richfieldcc.org.
