This week marked the end of Caseys time with the kids she has been meeting with regularly which includes the children from the pre-school, the english classes at the church, and the children’s ministry!

Just a few pictures of some (NOT ALL!) the groups Casey has been working with in order to give you a look into the lives that the church is connected to and for you to be praying that God will bring future teachers and volunteers who will continue the work!

What Went Down this Weekend that Got Me Thinking:

On Saturday we (the BUM worship team and I) were able to make a trip out to Mitrovitca and connect with a house church and among other things: share life and worship* God.

On Sunday the Lord reminded me what a blessing it is to have this worship band that we have.  It is a unique piece of each service that we take for granted.  The privilege to worship* God through music and talented musicians bringing us into the presence of God.

The famous bridge in Mitrovitca that divides the north from the south of the city.  All is technically Kosovo, but to the north there are predominately Serbians and to the south of the bridge it is comprised of Albanians.

The picture is taken from a coffee shop called “The Riverside Cafe” next to a small river that runs under the bridge and is quite beautiful.  However, just a day before I had arrived an Albanian had been killed on the other side of the bridge in the Serbian part of the city.   Tanks, jeeps and a large show of force had gathered to prevent any further riots or deaths that may have occurred.  ”Just another day in Mitrovica” my friend exclaimed.   Read the rest of this entry »

Just a quick video sharing some highlights and some faces of people who we got to share resurrection day with!

Just a heads up, the background music is by a christian rapper-Shai Linne-the title of the track is “jesus is alive”. I didn’t think it could be any more appropriate… but it might catch you off guard so I wanted to give you the warning :)

you’ve been warned….happy easter 2012!

When we first came to Kosovo in April, 2011, we came with Dennis and Joy Griggs and we stopped by in London on our way here.  It was easter week and on Maundy Thursday we stumbled into the Westminster Cathedral.  I figured that tonight, a year after our first encounter, I’d recall that event as well as current events going on this week.
